Lisa casts her exclusive designs in sterling silver through the Lost Wax Casting process. This meticulous metalworking technique, in practice for over 6,000 years, is used to create exquisite handmade jewelry and sculptures.
Each ring is first designed in a high-heat wax that retains detail, then cast by vacuum casting.
It’s called lost wax casting because the wax design is encased in a mold material and heated in a kiln, causing the wax to melt and “be lost,” leaving behind a precise cavity. Molten sterling silver is then poured into the cavity, filling the negative space, and solidifying into the final handmade artisan ring.
Sterling is a durable metal, but it still requires proper cleaning and care to maintain its heirloom-worthy luster.
Lisa recommends gently cleaning your handcrafted rings from her Pittsburgh showroom using a soft cloth and mild, soapy water. Avoid harsh chemicals, ultrasonic cleaners, and excessive scrubbing, which can damage the metal, gems, and other intricate designs.
Store your ring in a cool, dry place – preferably in a soft ring pouch – when not in use to prevent tarnishing. You can also include silica pouches in your jewelry box to prohibit oxidation.
