I designed my Widow’s Kiss necklace for those who love jewelry with a dark, romantic edge and a touch of dramatic texture. This striking piece centers around a mesmerizing, teardrop-shaped black druzy bead that sparkles like a cluster of raw obsidian under the moonlight. Above it sits a hand-fabricated, textured sterling silver element with a fiery 4mm rose-cut garnet. Suspended from an elegant sterling silver chain, it is an enchanting, dark-glamour statement piece made to be noticed.

Behind the Design

When I created Widow’s Kiss, I wanted to play with the stark, beautiful contrast between deep, textured blacks and the flashing fire of crimson and bright silver. Looking closely at the image, you can see how the dramatic teardrop shape anchors the design. I chose this specific black druzy because its dense, crystalline structure catches and reflects the light beautifully with every movement you make.

The Artisan Details

Above the druzy, I created a custom, freeform sterling silver accent. I gave the surface a distinct, organic texture that mimics weathered stone or molten metal, letting it catch the light in a rugged, beautiful way. Nestled securely within this silver framework is a gorgeous 4mm rose-cut garnet. The rose-cut faceting gives the garnet an antique charm, allowing it to glow with a deep, blood-red luminescence that contrasts beautifully against the surrounding dark stone.
